Google Raised The Issue of ChatGPT Code Red Amidst the Rise in Popularity

The advent of ChatGPT, the popular intelligent AI chatbot developed by OpenAI, reportedly prompted Google officials to declare a ChatGPT code red raising questions regarding the future of the Google search engine. According to an internal report and audio content assessed by the Times, Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google’s parent organization, Alphabet, started attending multiple meetings regarding Google’s Strategic plan and instructed multiple groups within the organization to reorient their endeavors on acknowledging the potential danger that ChatGPT imposes to its search engine company.

Google is one of the big tech corporations that has contributed to OpenAI’s development which is making a lot of noise. With respect to that, the achievement of ChatGPT, a relatively sophisticated chatbot that can provide surprisingly human-like answers, is leading the company to re-evaluate the destiny of Search On google and its own services that AI imparts. Google Search is likely capable of solving simple mathematical problems and provides the solution to simpler queries. Google may take inspiration from the OpenAI hatGPT and improve its search results to make them more human-like and spontaneous. On the other hand, Microsoft also attempted to test its own AI-powered chatbot known as Tay. However, it was taken down in 2016 because it made offensive and racial remarks.

As per the data reviewed by Bloomberg, “Sridhar Ramaswamy, who directed Google’s advertising division from 2013 to 2018, ChatGPT might “disrupt” Google’s economic model by restricting visitors from clicking on URLs that contain advertisements. About $208 billion, or 81% of Alphabet’s total revenue in 2021, came from these advertisements.

Zoubin Ghahramani, who directs Google’s AI lab, Google Brain, expressed his thoughts on chatbots before the Times and said Chatbots are “not something that people can use reliably on a daily basis.

“The reporters said, “Google should try to focus on its own search engine rather than taking it down.”
