The ground floor of FSW’s S Building is a study hall, a place to socialize, a place to watch TV or play video games. But not everyone agrees it’s a good place to eat.
“Most of their food is over-expensive and not so good, said Keyshawn Batticks, a sophomore.
Last semester, FSW’s food provider, FSI, Incorporated, was replaced by Metz Culinary Management. Besides a Dunkin Donuts located on the Lee campus, Metz provides all prepared food on the three largest campuses. Collier and Charlotte both have Cafés as their only source of dining for students.
On Lee campus, Subway and Pizza Hut Express were replaced by Crow’s Nest Deli and Pizza Express. Poblano’s, the Tex-Mex option, is a new addition. The classic grill menu, salad bar, daily specials and soups have carried over from FSI.
Under Metz, breakfast is also served earlier in the day, with the café opening at 7:00 a.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 8:30 a.m. on Fridays.
“Most of the food available is not the healthiest option,” said Nathan Stumpf, an FSW freshman, “but I’m not interested in healthier foods because that typically costs more.”
